Roel Twijnstra and Emma Durden have together written three books on theatre in South Africa, published by Twist Theatre Development Projects and Jacana with support from the National Lotteries Commission, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, ANFASA and the KZN Performing Arts Trust.

These three books include:

Theatre Directing in South Africa: Skills and Inspirations (2014)

Theatre Producing in South Africa: Skills and Inspirations (2016)

Acting in South Africa: Skills and Inspirations (2019)

The books are being used by young theatre makers, university Drama Departments, schools and community theatre groups, and have received very positive feedback.
